The Party Congress Research Group (PCRG) first formed at a meeting of the Research Sessions held by the European Consortium for Political Research in 2014 at the University of Essex. Following the initial formation, the project has grown to include researchers located in Austria, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland and Switzerland. Broadly, the PCRG consists of a cross-national team of researchers interested developing theories and empirically evaluating the role of party congresses / conferences and intra-party decision-making in democratic politics.
The 2019 PCRG conference will be held in Glasgow, Scotland in June 2019.
